Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part 440001960 is the power switch pedal for the Hoover SH40080, the foot control you press to switch the machine on and off.
A foot pedal is worked with the whole weight of a shoe, often at an angle and usually in a hurry, which makes it one of the more predictable wear points on any upright. Cracking, a pedal that has gone spongy, or one that has to be pressed twice before the machine responds all point at the pedal itself rather than at anything electrical further inside. It is a low-cost part, so changing it is the sensible first move once the pedal action has turned unreliable.
