Riccar vacuums use a multi-stage filtration system that includes HEPA media bags, a motor protection filter, and an exhaust filter — some models also offer granulated charcoal filters for odor control. Each filter serves a specific purpose, and skipping or delaying replacement compromises the entire system. We stock genuine Riccar filters for every model in the current and recent lineup.

A saturated motor protection filter lets fine particles coat the motor windings, causing overheating and premature failure. A clogged exhaust filter restricts airflow and forces the motor to strain. Riccar Filter Replacement Schedule

Check the motor protection filter at every bag change and replace it when it appears gray or discolored. HEPA exhaust filters should be replaced every 6-12 months depending on usage. Charcoal filters for pet odor control need replacement every 3-6 months to remain effective.
