Returns & Exchanges

Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Shipping and refunds

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part 040865 is a brush roll shaft for the Hoover Model 91 and 913 uprights. This shaft sits at the core of the roller, forming the straight axle the belt drives the brush around.

Once this shaft bends or wears, the roller wobbles, binds, or spins off-center instead of turning true, and that shows up as vibration and noise at the nozzle along with patchy, uneven cleaning results from one side of the path to the other. Fitting a straight replacement brings the roll back to a balanced, even spin.

This is a rebuild-level part rather than a stand-alone swap, since it installs at the heart of the assembly, so plan to have the brush roll apart on the bench when you fit it. Check the model stamped on your machine before you order, since a shaft cut even slightly long or short for your specific roll will not seat correctly in the bearings on either end.
