Behind the scroll cover on Eureka and Sanitaire commercial uprights sits the fan scroll housing, and part 5323814 is the fastener that holds that cover shut, sold ten to a pack and listed for the SC886 and a long run of its siblings.

These strip more easily than most screws on the machine because the cover gets removed for fan and motor service more than almost anything else in the housing. A stripped hole lets the cover sit loose, which shows up as extra motor noise or a cover that will not stay seated once it's clipped back on.

Support the cover carefully when you remove it, since the fan scroll housing underneath is exposed the moment it comes off, and a dropped fastener finding its way into the fan chamber is a bigger problem than the stripped screw you started with. Counting the screws out of the old cover and back into the new one is a habit worth keeping for exactly that reason.
