Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Watch a commercial cleaning crew push an upright through a hallway for an afternoon and it becomes obvious why the nozzle needs its own layer of protection separate from the housing underneath. Part 285041 provides exactly that on the Sanitaire 886 and 888 lines of uprights, a clear 31 inch strip that takes contact with baseboards, table legs, and every doorway the machine passes through.
Yellowing shows up in the clear strip well before an actual crack does, which makes color a useful early warning on machines that get looked over regularly on a service route. Press a thumb into the strip to feel how quickly it springs back, since a piece that has gone stiff and lost its give is closer to failing than it looks. When the strip finally does split or work loose from its channel, every impact that follows lands straight on the plastic housing instead, and repairing that housing costs considerably more than swapping a bumper strip ever would.
