Returns & Exchanges

Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Shipping and refunds

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part 517531001 is the right-side trunnion cover for Hoover upright vacuums, the plastic cover that sits over the pivot joint where the vacuum body tilts back from the base. This is a structural and cosmetic cover over the pivot mechanism, not a sealed airflow component, so it does not affect suction directly the way a hose gasket would.

Replace it when it has cracked, when a mounting tab has broken and it no longer stays seated, or when it is missing entirely and leaves the pivot mechanism exposed. A broken cover on its own will not stop the machine from tilting back and forth, but an exposed pivot collects lint and debris that can eventually make the mechanism stiffer than it should be.

This is a right-side cover specifically; Hoover uprights that use a trunnion cover here typically use a matching left-side cover as well, so confirm which side needs replacing before ordering, since the two are not interchangeable.

Fitting the replacement is a snap-in or screw-in job depending on the model, with no wiring or airflow connections involved, since the cover's only function is protecting and dressing the pivot joint underneath it.
