The Tornado CVD 48/2, part 91442, is the 19 in. dual motor upright in Tornado's CVD line, shipped with its onboard tools. Like the other dual motor CVD builds, it runs a dedicated motor for the brushroll separate from the vacuum motor.
A wider cleaning path covers more square footage per pass, which matters most on large open floor plans, corridors and ballrooms where the time spent turning a machine around eats into the time actually spent cleaning. The tradeoff is a heavier head to push and turn in tighter rooms, which is why crews running a wide machine for open areas often keep a narrower upright on hand for offices.
The drive is a 1.3 HP vacuum motor with a separate 150 watt brush motor, producing 102 CFM at 97 in. of water lift, the strongest water lift in the CVD range. Filtration is the same three-stage sealed HEPA path used across the line, ending in a HEPA cartridge and collecting into a 6 quart CleanBreeze bag, and the machine runs at 67 dB(A) on a 40 ft. cord with a Carpet and Rug Institute Silver rating.
A 48/2-class upright is also the one crews tend to store closest to the floor it actually cleans, since carrying a wide machine up a stairwell or through a narrow supply closet cuts into the productivity the wider head is supposed to add. Where storage space allows it, keeping the machine on the same level as its route is usually worth more than the convenience of one central closet for the whole building.
