Returns & Exchanges

The TMCY1051 is a bare tangential bypass motor for central vacuum power units, rated at 551 air watts on 120 V, supplied without an exhaust tube or lead assembly for buyers rebuilding a unit with their own hardware on hand.

A tangential bypass design keeps the motor's cooling air separate from the suction stream that pulls debris through the piping, entering the fan housing at an angle rather than straight through it. Because this is the bare motor, whatever exhaust tube, gasket, and wiring came off your original unit will need to be reused or replaced separately when you install it. Reusing an old gasket that has hardened or cracked is a common way a fresh motor still leaves a system short on suction, so it is worth checking that seal at the same time rather than assuming the new motor alone will fix the problem.
