Returns & Exchanges

Part 1614203 is that separator, the piece that flings coarse debris away from the airstream before it ever reaches the filter, on a machine with too little internal volume to shrug off a clog the way a full-size vacuum can.

Fine pet dander is what typically packs the mesh solid; unlike coarser debris it resists tapping free and shrugs off a simple rinse. Suction on a hand vac with a clogged separator drops sharply and stays down no matter how many times the cup gets emptied, which is the clue that points here rather than at the bin or the filter.

Check the mesh under good light rather than at a glance, since a hairline crack in a separator this small is easy to miss, and run a finger around the seating edge for gaps as well as looking for obvious damage. Keep it away from sharp debris when handled loose, since the mesh itself is thin enough to nick.
