Two toothed belts are fitted to the SOFTCASE CE12, and ordering the wrong one is the commonest mistake made on this machine. Part 75098 is the 318 HTD 3M 6 belt, drawn at position 151 in SEBO's exploded parts list, immediately after the left hand bearing block 75113 at position 150. The other belt, 2923, is the longer 333 HTD 3M 6 and appears at position 125 up in the motor group beside the light gray motor bridge 75080HG and the torque sensor 75110ER. Same tooth profile, same width, different length and different job.
The designation can be read straight off the belt. HTD is the tooth profile, 3M gives the three millimetre tooth pitch, the 6 is the belt width in millimetres and 318 is the pitch length. A toothed belt drives positively through those teeth instead of gripping by friction, which is why failure here is loud and obvious rather than gradual: teeth strip, the belt jumps, and the brush roller stops turning while the suction carries on as normal. Position 151 places 75098 with the parts that carry the twelve inch brush roller, 5010AM in the standard bristle or 5010GE in the soft bristle version, running in bearing blocks 75113 and 75114GS.
