Central vacuum inlets that power an electrified valve carry wiring behind the wall, and that wiring needs its own box set before drywall goes up. This rough-in kit, part 775851, positions the mount and wiring box for a Canplas ElectraValve II during framing or renovation, ahead of the finished inlet valve. Canplas designates this kit CI395RK.
Getting the position and depth right at this stage is what lets the wall close cleanly and the ElectraValve II valve seat properly once everything is finished; correcting it later means opening drywall that has already been closed. The E-box supplied with the kit is where the inlet's wiring connections are made up behind the finished wall surface.
This is the rough-in stage only, not the finished inlet valve itself. Once the wall is closed, complete the drop with the matching ElectraValve II valve body, in either the CI399W or CI399ALM finish.
Because it goes in ahead of finish work, keep the opening covered against construction dust and drywall mud until the inlet valve is ready to install, and confirm its planned height and position against nearby cabinetry or trim before the wall closes around it, since moving an inlet on paper is far simpler than relocating one afterward. Follow local electrical code for any wiring run to the box.
