Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

The Rainbow D4 Power Mate and RainbowMate RM-2E and RM-2 power nozzles use a 6-1/16 inch brush roll, sold here as part R4873. Bristles along the roll grip the pile as it turns, working embedded dirt loose so the nozzle's own airflow can carry it away.
Bristles that have frayed, flattened or worn short can no longer bite into carpet the way a fresh roll does, so debris that should come up stays in the pile after a pass. Hair and thread wound tightly around the roll have a similar effect, and they add drag that a belt has to work against.
Because the roll is a wear item on a machine that otherwise runs for years, it is worth pulling and checking on a regular schedule rather than waiting for a visible drop in cleaning to prompt the inspection.
