X1982 is a Pumptec 112V-series plunger pump, the pressure pump that pushes cleaning solution out to the spray jets on a carpet extractor. Pumptec builds this series under its own name and supplies it to more than one equipment brand, which is why the pump on a machine usually carries the pump maker's own series designation alongside the machine builder's stocking number.
Pumptec rates the 112V/112T series at 0.7 to 1.0 GPM up to 300 psi as a family, then publishes a separate row for each voltage: the 112V-120VAC build runs at 1.6 amps on 120 VAC with NBR seals, 1.20 GPM open flow and a 350 psi maximum. Across the series the body is hardcoat aluminum with a stainless steel plunger and stainless valves, two 1/4 in. NPT female inlet ports and two 1/4 in. NPT female discharge ports, and a 140 F maximum fluid temperature. Pumptec assembles the series in the USA, and the stainless wetted parts are what let the pump handle cleaning solution rather than plain water without corroding from the inside.
Most shops swap this pump outright once it starts underperforming rather than sending it out for a rebuild. Pressure fades gradually as a unit wears, so watch for carpet needing an extra pass to come clean, a spray pattern that sputters instead of holding steady, trouble getting the system to prime, or a motor that runs noticeably warmer than usual, well before the pump quits outright.
