Most in-stock orders using standard shipping are processed within 1-5 business days, and most arrive 2-11 business days after they are placed. Backordered and special-order items may take longer. Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Tandem Air is Riccar's term for a canister built around a powered nozzle that shares the work with the machine's main motor, rather than leaving all the agitation to suction alone, and the Prima R50TAP is the version of the Prima line built around that design. Where the Prima Straight Suction canister relies on airflow alone at the floor, this one carries a second motor in the nozzle itself, running in tandem with the canister motor the way the name describes.
That distinction points the R50TAP toward homes with real carpet to clean rather than mostly hard floors, since a powered nozzle does more to work debris out of carpet fiber than suction on its own. It remains a bagged canister, so what the nozzle lifts stays sealed in the bag rather than sitting exposed in a bin.
As the higher-powered canister in the Prima line, the R50TAP is the model Riccar built for buyers who considered an upright for carpet performance but still wanted the reach and maneuverability of a canister that trails behind them rather than one carried on the arm.
That combination tends to suit a specific kind of household: enough carpet spread across enough rooms that an upright's fixed nozzle would mean constant repositioning, but a strong enough preference for a canister's low weight and easy reach under furniture that giving up the powered nozzle entirely, as the Straight Suction R50SS does, feels like leaving performance on the table.
