Returns & Exchanges

This metal wye, or Y-fitting, brings a branch line into a central vacuum trunk run built from rigid metal pipe rather than PVC. One side of the Y carries a long-radius, 90-degree curve, so the branch enters the main line at a gentle angle instead of a hard perpendicular joint.

Because part TFM1195V is cataloged with the metal pipes and fittings line, it is meant for installations already running metal tubing rather than PVC; the two pipe materials use different fitting profiles and are not interchangeable at a joint. Bond metal-to-metal joints with an adhesive made for that purpose, not the solvent-weld cement used on PVC.

Dry-fit the wye against the adjoining metal pipe before bonding, since the joint cannot be repositioned once the adhesive sets. Support the pipe close to a branch fitting like this one so the weight of the run does not stress the bond while it cures, and keep the branch on the same metal pipe standard as the rest of the network rather than mixing in PVC partway through.
