This is the lower half of the housing for the Titan and Dust Care power nozzle, listed under SKU BASE23. The nozzle shell is built in two halves, and the lower half is the one that carries the brush roll, drive belt and wheel set, so it does most of the structural work of keeping those moving parts lined up with one another.
When the lower base cracks or the mounting points wear round, the brush roll no longer sits square in the shell. That shows up as grinding noise, uneven carpet contact on one side of the nozzle, or debris left in a strip the brush should have cleared. A loose or cracked base can also let the wheels wobble, which makes the whole nozzle rock as you push it across carpet instead of tracking straight.
Moving the internal parts into a fresh base restores a square, quiet fit. Because the base is a structural housing rather than a wear item like a belt or brush strip, it typically only needs replacing after a crack, a broken mounting post, or stripped screw bosses, not on a routine schedule.
