Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

The actuator arm trunnion is the pivot inside the linkage that raises and lowers the brush roll when you change the carpet height setting. Part 36171058 is the replacement for the Hoover uprights that use it.
Wear here is gradual and easy to misread. Play in the pivot lets the nozzle sit at a height other than the one you selected, so cleaning goes uneven from one pass to the next, the machine gets noisier, and on a low setting the brush roll can bog down or stop turning against the carpet. That drag goes straight into the belt.
It fits the Hoover U8311900, U8347900, U8351900 and U8351950, the UH30065, and the UH70010, UH70015 and UH70020. Check the belt and the brush roll bearings while the housing is open, because by the time the trunnion is worn they have been fighting it for a while.
