Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part 440001225 is the pre-filter screen assembly for the Dirt Devil BD20050. As the name says, it screens the larger material out of the airstream ahead of the machine's finer filtration, so lint, hair and grit are caught while they are still easy to shake loose.
A screen that has split, clogged solid, or gone missing lets that material travel further into the machine than the design intends, which loads the rest of the filtration faster and makes the motor work against a restriction every time the vacuum runs. Keeping the screen intact and clear is what protects everything sitting behind it.
- Fits: Dirt Devil BD20050
- Function: screens larger debris out of the airstream ahead of the finer filtration
- Tip: knock loose debris out of the screen between full swaps to stretch the replacement interval, but retire it once the mesh looks stretched or torn
The new assembly drops in where the original sat, with no tools required. Verify the BD20050 model number on your machine before ordering, and compare the old screen against the replacement for shape and size before you fit it.
