Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part 1601961 is the drive belt Bissell fits to its PowerGlide Lift-Off uprights, and it ranks among the parts most likely to wear out on this family of machines over a normal working life.
Smell tends to arrive before sound with this failure. A hot rubber odor often shows up while the roller is still technically spinning, followed shortly after by a roller that has quit turning entirely even though the rest of the vacuum keeps pulling air through the hose without any obvious change. Wear here is gradual rather than sudden. Tension falls away over months of use, so a belt that still looks intact can lose the grip needed to turn the roller through thick carpet pile, well before it ever snaps in two.
Owners sometimes assume a slack belt just means slightly reduced pickup, but a belt loose enough to slip usually skips entirely on thicker carpet rather than turning the roller partway, which is why the drop in performance can feel abrupt even though the belt had been going slack for a while.
Coverage runs across the PowerGlide 2763 line, including the 2763-2 and 2763T, the 27631, 27632, 27633 and 27638 variants, the 9182W, and the 2043-series PowerGlide Lift-Off Pet Plus line. Clear hair from both ends of the roller before fitting a new belt, since a roller that is still bound will glaze a fresh belt within minutes of use.
