Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

This brush roll, Bissell part 1628115, is the agitator from the SurfaceSense Pet Multi-Surface upright. It fits the 2817 and the closely related 28172, 28179 and 3439.
On a multi-surface machine the roller does double duty, sweeping hard floors and digging into carpet pile, so it sees more wear than a carpet-only brush. The tell-tale is a machine that leaves a visible line of debris behind on a pass, or that used to pull pet hair out of a rug and now just polishes it. Look at the bristles: worn short, bent flat, or melted at one end all mean the same thing.
Hair and thread wrapped tight around the shaft wear a new roller unevenly, so clear the wraps regularly rather than waiting for the roller to bind.
